IPTV, DSTV AND OTHER SERVICES DEBATE AT NAIRALAND.COM

THE DABATE SO FAR ABOUT IPTV, DSTV AND OTHER SERVICES COURTESY OF APOLLO IPTV. WHATS YOUR COMMENT?

Apollo Group TV $25/mth or $160/yr but worth it
Has all dstv channels too, including your much acclaimed BBNaija

I totally agree with you on Apollo Group TV. It's the best iptv service I've tried so far and the 10-day trial is unrivalled. The only turn off for me though is the high subscription rate. I'll probably consider it if I get anyone to share with.

The £100 iptv is coping well on match days ....... If we love to watch EPL, that might be an option...... Streams in 4K, but no dstv .......... wink

Our £20 iptv is streaming effortlessly here oooo. I mean the premier league games. The only thing is that during game time, It didn’t work with my broadband (Virgin) I had to use my phone hotspot and it worked fine. I just watched Man U game now tongue, waiting to watch my team (City grin)

Please can some1 give me an alternative to dstv? I want to watch football live matches like epl and laliga and I don't want to go for another dstv. No, gotv at my location either. Location is lafia.
There are options like cable television eg CTL but it will crack during the rainy season. Another option is iptv which uses internet data.

There are other options like having a BUD if you have space and want it as a long term project

Thanks for lending your voice Bro. I've been using internet TV for the past 8years and in my view it's advantages outweigh dstv and other cable providers. I just need an honest answer from an independent person like you that have been using same. How do you compare the two?

Bro I won't lie to you, using a box with iptv is very advantageous compared to cable tv. This is because not only do you get unlimited number of channels but also u are in charge of the type of channels you get.
But it is difficult to enjoy such services with the current price and speed of data. Countless people have mentioned that earlier here. U need not just a large amount of data but a pretty fast and stable network for you to enjoy the iptv unless you want to see ur channels stuck on buffering every 2mins. That's is were the advantage of cable tv come in, they give these channels at a particular cost with little or no interruption except from weather changes.
That's my brief opinion on the two.

Noo, the iptv channels are free. Even the kodi addon channels eg pluto, tubi, plex, the crew etc are free. The only thing u need is a stable network and lots of data, it u want to enjoy ur box or stick.

Good for you. No need to fight this with you. All I know is, I use GLO data #20,000 monthly for the entire household. 2 tvs, 8 IP CCTV's camera running continuously (non-stop), 6 Androids phones, and 2 laptops. No one in my house do individual sub on their device.

I just finished watching ALL the 2022 action movies released so far (I bet dstv will still be showing you 2010 movies). My little kids watch cartoons so rich from all over the world.

I watch free and live porn on Kodi. Something dstv can never show you. And you know what's sweeter, you can actually chat with those girls life as they do their thing.

I watch all sorts of sports at my leisure. Football, basketball, hockey, cricket, table tennis, lawn tennis, rugby, volleyball, badminton, athletics, surfing, handball, bowling, pool/snoocker, car race, horse race formula 1 etc. You name them. dstv probably show 4 or 5 of those sports.

News - Count the numbers of News channels dstv premium has and multiply it by 25. That's how reach and current you can get your news.

You must recognize that the future of television is Internet, that's why Smart TV came into being. That's why all major telcos adopted it. AirtelTV, GloTV, ApppleTV, Samsung tv, AmazonTV name them. Even your dstv so called dstv operates iptv....Incase, you don't know...Your DSTVNow is an iptv.

Anyway, the summary is that I get so much more with data than cable and I only spend #20,000 monthly yet, we don't get to finish the data. I have lights 24/7 in the house and there's no downtime on my data usage. I have dstv explorer...big for nothing box and it's dish praising heaven. I can dash you if you want.
oga easy with these lies Biko. The same 20k I do that gives me 200gb, that I can't even stream live TV for two weeks without exhausting 100gb, I have not talked about me surfing the internet or uploading videos on YouTube etc. But your who family uses 200gb, you camera, everything. Oga Biko easy

Cable network is way cheaper. I have an android box with more than 12,000 channels from iptvs, pluto, plex, the crew, ghost, tubi, and Samsung tv addons. Even connected to dstvnow. Very nice, until you check how much you spend on data at the end of the month. Unless you want to watch at an Inferior resolution i.e 480sd. U can even google estimated data usage in a month by android box/stick users.

I run on solar, haven't had a power failure for close to 2 years now. if you are running 130GB a month for 8 connected devices, then I can tell you straight that you are not a heavy data user. Months where i don't even turn on the TVs at all, the 75GB is going to run me for like 2 - 3 weeks.
Referencing netflix was so that others would be able to relate as not so many have used other iptv boxes. You can choose to pay a subscription and have reasonable-quality curated content, or spend hours on end tweaking kodi builds. Again, been there, done that.
On the service providers, my brother, which of their modems or boxes don't I have? grin grin

Source: I no fit lie give you I swear.

Thank you for your honest response. Tweaking for iptv channels and addons that have expiration dates is both hilarious and demanding. Been there, back to my dstv but considering this tstv due to affordability.

Guy, trust me. I've tried it all. I've used dstv, TSTV, Startimes, GoTV, StroUng Decoder name them.

I've done the mathematics. And I've put it to test.

First, even TSTV, you will need subscription.
Now think about it this way:

Once there's no light, you can't watch your TSTV. With iptv, you can carry on watching right from your phone.

Everybody in my household no longer sub for their individual data on their phones as they can link to the wifi the Tv box is using. And I'm talking of not less than 8people connected. Imagine if each were to sub #5000 on their phones? Still we don't get to finish the data.

Channels available: Your Pandora box of unlimited channels just opened. I have nothing less than 7000channels on my Kodi. TSTV will just randomly pick some cheap channels they have rights on for you. You don't even have access to Bleep-mojo channels if you want to watch pun.

Movies: Just know that you can watch the latest movie as that released 3hours ago with iptv compare to TSTV showing you some 1995 movies.

Cartoons: Your kids will love you more. Just know you will get their own Android-box and TV because they won't let go the remote for you.

News: You can be up-to-date as to the happenings in Fiji, Zanzibar or Reunion Island.

Sports: You will soon find out that there are some important sporting events that TSTV will not cover simply because they don't have the channels that's covering it. I remember how all my friends that uses dstv couldn't watch several Anthony Joshua's bouts. As long as there's a channel showing it in the entire world, iptv will beam it live and direct for you.

Documentary: Not just the 3 or 4channels TSTV will give you. You are talking of nothing less than 100 on iptv

How much do you intend to sub on you TSTV for you to even manage their peanut channels monthly? If you buy an unlimited broadband, that will satisfy your viewing needs as well as covering wifi usage for the entire family, you will agree with me that the Advantages of iptv far outweighs TSTV.

Lest I forget....I even installed WhatsApp and Facebook on my Android box and use a wireless keyboard to surf/chat. My TV doubles as a home computer with my Tiny "X 88 PRO 10" box. I'm such a lazy fellow. Once I'm on that couch watching iptv, the only thing that comes in between is food.

Cable network is way cheaper. I have an android box with more than 12,000 channels from iptvs, pluto, plex, the crew, ghost, tubi, and Samsung tv addons. Even connected to dstvnow.
